About Mackenzie…

Mackenzie Bart grew up in the small town of Brockway, PA, just down the road from the famous Punxsutawney Phil. She was actively involved in the 4-H Club, Rotary Club, and even organized a sign language club called “Seeing Voices.”

Before beginning her senior year at The Ohio State University, Mackenzie served as Miss Ohio 2014 and had the opportunity to compete in the prestigious Miss America Scholarship Competition. With her spunky puppet, Roxy, Mackenzie won the Preliminary Talent Award. In addition to making the final top 10 at Miss America, she also received a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) scholarship.

Following the competition, Mackenzie and Roxy were featured on Good Morning America and The Today Show. As Miss Ohio 2014, she traveled over 38,000 miles to visit every children’s hospital and veterans’ home in Ohio, as well as in Pennsylvania and West Virginia. She also educated many students about STEM. Due to her younger sister’s medical challenges, Mackenzie became a strong advocate for Universal Newborn Screening and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

In 2015, Mackenzie was cast as a contestant on America’s Next Weatherman, a reality competition show on TBS. She competed against 12 other meteorologists and weather enthusiasts in weekly weather-related challenges. Mackenzie emerged victorious, earning the title of America’s Next Weatherman and the opportunity to forecast on CNN’s New Day.

Mackenzie has been a TV meteorologist for 8 years and currently resides in Cleveland, Ohio. When she's not forecasting the weather, she can be found spending time with her German Shepherd, Theta, or performing at events and schools with her ventriloquism puppets.
